Even though I have participated in early childhood education since my teenage years, I began working professionally in a learning center environment as a part-time floater.  Within six months, I became a Toddler II teacher.  After obtaining my CDA, I transitioned to an Assistant VPK teacher.  To further my career in early childhood education, I attended Florida State College at Jacksonville and took the required course to become a Center Director.  The opportunity opened for me to pursue the role of a Center Director.  I have maintained the position for approximately seven years.  While I am fulfilling my duties as a Center Director, I am also attending college to obtain my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at Florida Gateway College in Lake City, Florida.  I applied for and was one of the finalists for the NHSFP Fellowship.  I continue to serve my state’s early childhood community as a member of FLAEYC and DELDN.
