Ms. Shirline Alexander is the future founder of SAJ’s Early Learning Center of Excellence, a program dedicated to fostering creativity through a rigorous, hands-on curriculum for young children. With over 21 years of experience as a certified Technology Coach, Behavior Specialist, and Educator, Ms. Alexander is deeply committed to ensuring that children receive the educational support they need to become successful learners, readers, and citizens.
Her passion for education was ignited in her childhood as the daughter of immigrants, who emphasized the value of learning. Inspired by her own experiences, Ms. Alexander has been determined to provide similar opportunities for young learners, nurturing their growth and positioning them for lifelong success.
Ms. Alexander has spent 21 years serving as an educator within the Miami-Dade and Broward County Public School systems. She is currently an Adult Basic Education
Teacher in the evenings and recently became a district ESE Curriculum Program Specialist. She holds State of Florida certifications to teach Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, with endorsements in ESOL and ESE. Her academic credentials include a Master’s in Public Administration from Florida International University, a Master’s in Educational Administration from St. Thomas University, and a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Florida State University. She leverages this extensive knowledge to lay a strong educational foundation for young children.
Throughout her career, Ms. Alexander has earned numerous accolades, including the “Teacher of the Year” award at Gulfstream Academy of Hallandale Beach (2017-18), a $1,000 Broward County TDIF Grant to attend the ASCD conference in Chicago (2019), and the Broward Education Foundation Adapter Grant for $600, which she received for six consecutive years. Her most profound grant has been a partnership with Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS), where she wrote a partnership for $750,000 to provide access to students in Grades 6-8 at her secondary school with free access to internet through free iPads and also, she opened up a 21st Century Innovative Lab to expand opportunities for students to become more diverse in STEM and Engineering.
An expert in education, Ms. Alexander adopts a holistic approach, integrating high academic standards with diverse co- and extracurricular programs to create well-rounded learners. She leads a team of dedicated professionals focused on nurturing children’s natural talents. At SAJ’s Learning Center, she aims to cultivate an environment of mutual respect and compassion, where students can thrive mentally, physically, and emotionally, preparing them for future success in both their academic and personal lives.
